Will I be able to purchase one and replace my 7300? I am new to the MP line ( i've had PB's in the past) and wondering what - if any - upgrade path there is.

You can only purchase the new card, if Apple makes it available as a separate item (which they do sometimes) and it's compatible with your system (it should be).

Currently, the ATI Radeon X1900XT is available as an upgrade kit from the Apple Online Store for the Mac Pros.
