Hi new to forum
I have just gotten a new MacBook. I have a wireless connection in my house. It is functional and WEP protected. I am funning a Vaio on it with no problems. It is a Linksys cable modem with a Netgear router.

On my MacBook, under the antenna icon on top of screen I seen the name of my wireless network. I select it and it lists Wireless Security: WEP Password. Then asks for password. Now this is where the problem comes in. What password?? Is it asking for the WEP Key. Cause I have put that in several times and it states that there was an error joining the AirPort network.

Any help? I am completly lost with my new Mac.

Thanks.

Brandon

Try placing a $ before you paste in the WEP string.

Very much the wrong forum, btw.

Go on your Vaio and go to network connections in the control panel, and right click the wireless network, then see if there is anything in properties about security or passwords.
