So I am going to buy a mac pro (hopefully soon).
-I'm wondering when everyone thinks the new graphics cards will be available for it?
-I had heard about (and been to) a site where people were hacking nvidia cards to work in the mac pros, does anyone have the link to that site?
-Also is it possible to use non-ECC ram in it?
-My last question is this: I'd like to run 3 internals drives, 2 of them in a raid 0 for OSX and one for windows. Is that possible?
Thanks for the help.

Maybe tomorrow at NAB. The bigger question is when MPs will support multi-card graphics (dual-SLI or similar). I have been hoping that too would be announced tomorrow but we will see.

No, and ECC RAM is better, that is why they use it. You can add 2x2GB ECC RAM from OWC OWC: Apple Mac G4 upgrades, Laptop Batteries, Memory, Drives for US$530.

Sure.

I don't know if they'll be offering this anytime soon, as the current Xeon only supports 28 PCI express lanes, with one already taken by AirPort & Bluetooth.

Thanks for the help guys. The reason I ask about non-ECC ram is because it is faster, cooler, and about 3/5 of the price. So non-ECC ram won't work at all? That's a real bummer, because $480 for 4 gigs of ram is absurd.

- No, you need FB-DIMMs, and those only come as ECC. Crucial is a good place to buy compatible RAM.

SLI can be, and is regularly, done with two 8x slots (8x electrical, 16x physical).

Any idea when the next big updates will be coming? What else would be in the pipeline besides the graphics cards? CPU speed bumps?
