Hey, I've had an eMac for just over a year now and just around 30 mins ago it started acting all wierd. When ( sometimes if ) it starts it freezes then wierd blurry things cover the dock and top tool bar. Sort of like multi-coloured bar code coving both of them. The only thing I can do is turn it off then on again. Still no change. I tried to use the restore disk but I can't get it to work. Help please!! This eMac is the family comp ( I'm using my iBook to write this ) so I need some help asap. Cheers.

It sounds like a hardware problem, unfortunately. Can you run the Apple Hardware Test disc and see if it reports any errors?

First, I would cry. Then I would send it to Apple.

Before sending it make sure you are ready for major spending. It happened to me, computer not covered by the recall. Over 1000$ in repairs. Yes I did cry and did not spend this much money on a machine that will give more problems, because once someting goes wrong, there is no end to it.

Good luck!
