Any way to get the Airport and Bluetooth upgrade other than when it is configured that way at purchase from apple.com?

I want to buy the default config Mac Pro tax free from Amazon and upgrade everything on my own, HD & RAM are no problem but I can't find any place that sells the Bluetooth and Airport upgrades.

Any leads or advice would be great. Thanks!

The bluetooth and Airport upgrades have to be done through an autherized Apple dealer since they are tricky upgrades. Will cost more then buying them BTO. I bought my Mac Pro with bluetooth and airport it's easier and more economical to do at time of purchase then after-market, same with the ATI X1900 512MB Video card upgrade (both upgrades strongly recommended).

FastMac | Product - Bluetooth, Live Wirelessly

Still not sure about Airport.

I believe you can get a USB wireless device. I'll have to research it again but remember seeing something about this awhile back.

I just had both installed at the Apple store yesterday, It took them about an hour and cost me a little over $70. I was reading other forms, and it seems like others have purchased the upgrades from Comp Usa, but they are not supposed to sell them, they are technically only for an authorized Apple repair shop to put in.

hotdogsoup, did the $70 include the bluetooth and wifi components and the installation fees? I think they charge around that much at the Apple store when ordering BTO. If so, I'd go ahead and order from Amazon and save on tax as well

Yeah that was for everything, they installed it for free, I the bluetooth was $25 and airport was $43 plus sales tax. It was like $72 total. It does look like a pretty difficult install, I suck at working on tiny things so I don't think I would have even attempted it on my own. But if you are good at that kind of stuff why not save a few bucks.

Based on the above post order the standard config from Amazon and then go to the local Apple Store and have them do the bluetooth/Airport install, but to get the X1900 upgrade kit from Apple is an extra $150 ($399 vs, $249) and have no clue how much the 7300GT would fetch on eBay for you. How much in tax are you exactly saving (%)?

How did you work out the free installation? I was also quoted the price of $25 and $43 plus tax, but they want $30 for installation. I talked to two sales guys and a genius, all gave me same story.
