Hi all,

model is Core 2 Duo powered, it is not mine but I am going to get it just for testing-what is wrong with you purposes. Owner says it takes too long to shutdown and sometimes she just need to unplug the plug, yes, that dirty…

Since I have never messed with an intel Mac I would like to get some in advance info, so I can know what can be done besides looking for RAM, software and the alike issues…

I guess those still come with an Apple Hardware Test media disc, right?.

From what I understand, the hardware test CD doesn't often catch problems. Obviously your first step is to repair permissions. I've had that fix the exact problem you're talking about. I'd bet on a software issue over a hardware issue, but you can't rule out RAM or something like that.

Gossamer, it seems that repairing permissions did solve the issue, I didn't put my hands on that iMac just passed the word and the owner told me so. Thank you very much (let's hope it keeps OK)
