I have an Imac G5, and suddenly the external speakers stopped working. I opened the preferences >Hardware>Sound property menu, and discovered that the "Line Out" options has disappeared. How do I get the "Line Out" back. I hate to reinstall the OS. Any help?

Is "Line Out" grayed out or is it gone completely?
