i have this stick in a 512MB(x6) version Newegg.com - Open Box: gigaram 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM ECC Registered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Server Memory - OEM

and im wondering if they will work fine in a new mac pro. i am taking them out of my dual 2ghz g5

macpro 2.66 | 4GB | 7 TB
macbook pro 2.4i5 | 4GB | 500GB 7200rpm

You need one of these:

Kingston FB DIMM Mac Pro kits

These are kits consisting of two sticks of RAM. It also matters how many you install, if you install them in a certain way, you benefit from a higher memory bandwidth if I'm correct. Anyone can back me up on this ?

4 GB 2x2 for $370. Purchased a few days ago and just installed them Working great!
