Does anyone know if it is possible to run OS X 10.3 on a G4 350MHz machine with a 20gig internal HD , 250 gig external HD, and 640Megs of RAM?

I have one of those old machines running 10.2.8. I'm about to order a new MacPro and would like to squeeze a little more life out of the old machine.

Thanks for the advice.

Yes it will run. I had Tiger running fine on my son's G3 iMac.

Thanks chabig. This is the information I was hoping to hear. Now all I have to do is to find someone selling a copy of this older software for my older machine.

You can run Tiger on that Mac, too.

In fact, I *would* run Tiger on that Mac. It will feel more polished - smoother - than Panther.

I am currently running 10.4.9 on a 400 MHz G4 with 448 megabytes of ram. I have an external firewire hard disk as well as the internal and it will boot from either. sam

What a wonderful response. My thanks to all of you who have responded. I now know that the limits I thought were on this older machine were not really there!

I'm going OS shopping.

Richard
