I have a really unique problem. I have a Mac G5 (not intel based).. I have also the nice 23inch mac display.

The problem I have actually had for awhile is, every time I restart my computer or turn it off and on again is that when it boots up, the screen gets all jarbled like the colors are inverse of each other. It loads up fine and the resolution is good but just as its finished loading mac OS X and right before it loads the programs it does it's little jarble thing.

The only way I have been able to get rid of it is to un plug the display from the computer and plug it back in again. Then it takes it a few seconds and the screen goes back to normal.

I am kinda lost on how to fix this.. it gets annoying crawling under my desk every time I restart the computer.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Ross

The obvious solution is a DVI extension cable so you don't have to crawl under your desk.

I had this same problem on my PM G5 while using Apple's ADC-DVI converter. About every third reboot the monitor connected to the converter would come up like I had pressed ctrl+alt+apple +8. They only way to 'fix' the problem was to unplug the monitor.
I talked to Apple about this numerous times and they eventually said that all you can do is unplug the monitor. I wish I knew of a fix for you.
