I'm using an original PowerMac G5 dual 2.0 GHz (the very first one). It's been running pretty faithfully for the past four years. I had some problems with a bad processor when Panther came out, and occasionally the power supply goes weird (if I leave it unplugged for a long time) and the computer won't start.

Now I'm worried that the power supply might be actually dying. Last night I woke up to get a drink of water, and heard the fans going full blast. It had kernel paniced. The reason I'm inclined to suspect a power supply problem is that the night before it had restarted itself all on it's own; I came into my office (I work from home) in the morning to find it at the login screen.

Does anyone know any easy way (other than taking it to the Apple Store) that I could confirm or disconfirm that the problem is with the power supply? And assuming it is, does anyone know a good place that I could get a replacement power supply?

First, check here:
Apple - Support - Power Mac G5 Repair Extension Program for Power Supply Issues
I have no idea what models and serial numbers are covered.
