I just went to apple's website and I wondered where all those 4-core Mac Pros were.

There is only one Mac Pro listed - at 2500$.

I guess 2000$ is enough high a barrier to enter Mac Pro land.

Could it be they are running short on supplies, sign of coming upgrade?

What? I'm confused here, are you saying they're running short because only 1 Mac Pro is listed? Its always been like that, you click the configure button and configure it there.
Signature depreciated.

Precisely. The default model is also a quad model, not an octo model, but I agree that that is not exactly obvious.

Go to the configuration screen, they're all still there.

What was not clear that on the store's main page it said "Mac Pro - AT 2500". Which would mean a fixed price. And if you take the 4-core it would be cheaper. Rare example, where a dealer doesn't use the "from" to get people hooked with a lower price, but actually hides the lower prices.

So you can navigate the price (within limits) with via configuration.

Rare example, where a Mac NN member does crystal meth just before posting, using the "from" to get people hooked with a lower tolerance precision ball bearing, but Paris Hilton actually quotes lower prices on coconuts.

So I can navigate reality (within limits) with via non-grammatical configuration.
Your post was confusing, so I put it into a translation engine (Martian to English), and this is what came out. It makes a little more sense now. Is this what you meant?

Veltliner, your posts make no sense from start to finish.

p.s.- perhaps you should study the whole 4 vs. 8 core issue for a bit, you seem to be even more confused than normal...

Hey Veltliner,

I apologize. I shouldn't have teased you. We are all here to learn, and I am sure my posts have not always been perfectly clear.

Best,

nina

Poor, poor MichiganRich. Cannot discern between the expressions "confused" and "negligent".

At least he may be well grounded in his own simpleness, which excludes the possibility and the capability of ever being confused.

That's OK.

I should have reread it.

The only problem with teasing is, that you get people like MichiganRich riding your coattails (that kind of people has no own means of transportation).
