Hi there everyone!
I am soon going to be buying a brand new Mac Pro (yipee!), I'm just waiting for Apple to upgrade them and as soon as it's done I'll be buying one. I want to do some HD video editing and saw that fastmac released recently a blu-ray burner. It seems like I could use it to burn data, but from what I read in reviews, I can't watch movies with it since there is no software support in Mac OS for now, although I have my standalone blu-ray player so that isn't too much of an issue.

My question is though, if I buy the blu-ray burner, does anyone know if there is a way to burner a movie with menus and everything so that it would be playable in high def on my standalone blu-ray player? And if I can't do that on Mac OS, would there be a way to use the burner in Windows if it can work there and do it in that OS instead?

Reason I'm asking is for that price, I'd be kind of expecting to be able to burn a little bit more than data and it would make watching my videos on my projector easier than using the video output of the computer.

And if someone's bought it, I'd like to know your opinion on whether or not it's worth it. Thanks!

Of course, there are lots of options for BluRay video authoring. How do you think the studios do it?

Just to name a few: Adobe Encore, Sonic Scenarist, Ulead Movie Factory (consumer), Ulead DVD Workshop (pro), there's even an open source project.
