Alright so I've had my eMac for a while but i havn't really used it's potential. All i've done is mess around on Garage band and iTunes and intenet. I want to do more with it. I hate not being able to get videos off the web that would work for a windows pc. Like game videos or just other stuff. My friend told me about VLC it's done well but i'm annoyed by it now because it wont play the whole thing it will freeze up and just stay like that and if i try to skip ahead a little bit and it will freak out and just go fuzzy if anyone has any suggestions Im open to them.

What eMac do you have? How much RAM do you have?
Can you give a link to a file that won't play properly?

it's a super drive eMac
it has 512 mb ram
120 gig drive

ya here is a link to the new halo 3 vid
and ya just click to start the vid.

when i click it, it just downloads a little white sheet of paper with the VLC cone on it and it automatically plays?

Well, a bit more RAM would help, in general. I would say that 1gb is pretty much the minimum these days.
The file you linked to is a wmv file, which you should be able to play properly with VLC, and with Flip for Mac (the free windows media player pluggin).
When you say it 'automatically plays' does it play right, or are there problems?
