Can't determine if my Canon Prixma MP760 is fully compatible with my imac. I can print wireless with Airport Base unit and access internet fine with no interruptions but when it comes to scanning, nada. I've done <browse devices> in image capture and says it not there. I have dl'd and installed latest driver. Canon, of course, has discontinued this machine. The usual buy it now, obsolete tomorrow cycle we're all in.

Thanks for any feedback.

There are an amazing number of "all in one" and multifunction printer devices out there that ONLY print via a network. Wired or wireless makes no difference. It's all about the driver, and not many printers have networkable drivers for Macs.

<<"ONLY" print via a network>>>

don't understand what this means. My MF printer is connected to 1 imac.

Latest Canon drivers are installed and it works in all aspects when connected directly to the imac. When it's connected wirelessly to airport base it's inconsistent on printing and has never worked scanning

By "ONLY print" I meant that many devices don't do anything BUT print over a network. And again, it's completely dependent on the drivers available for the device. If you have drivers that work over the network, it'll work fine. If the drivers don't support functions like scanning over the network, you're out of luck.
