Hi there!

I have a Mac Pro 2x2.66, ATI X1900 XT with 4GB of RAM. Lately I've experienced some might weird behaviour. Every now and again, especially after waking up. My dual 20" screens will suddenly go black and to sleep. If I leave them like this, they'll turn on. My Mac Pro seems to be running, but trying to quit applications etc won't yield any disk activity. Trying to turn the monitors back on / refitting the video cables won't do anything either.

So I am led to believe that the machine is kernel panicking so bad that even the video system shuts down. Anyone experienced anything like this?

Console's panic.log has this to say:

There have been reports of issues with the X1900 and blackouts, have a look around the last few threads in this forum, macgeek and a few others were talking about it.

Apparently there is a revision 2 card that Apple will send out, so you could try that route.
