I am a newbie to Imac.

I purchased a Imac a cople of months ago and I am ready to set it up. This is what I have Imac 20", 16Ghz, 250GB hard drive,SD, X1600, I have taken out of box, I do have Airport Express Base Station for ITunes, I did not buy Parallel software to install XP or Vista. It comes with bluetooth and etc. my family has two PC's that are working at this time one is connected by wireless router and the other is conneted to cable modem. what is exactly do I need to do to connect to the Internet with my Imac? My Cable Modem is about 10 to 15 ft from my Imac.
I have not bought a seperate wireless router for my Imac yet, don't know for sure
if I need one?

I hope I gave enough info for this.

Thanks again
Jim

You can use the Airport Express connected to your Internet connection or the wireless router your family has. It doesn't seem like you need to buy anything else.

Or you could simply attach directly to the cable modem with an ethernet cable.

Your iMac connects to the Internet the same way any other computer does. If you want to use Wifi, open the Network pane of System Preferences and configure Airport.

Yes I got it working for a while but the computer which was powering my wireless
router crashed on me, so the only computer that is working is this Pc
I bought AirPort Express with ITunes and tried to setup a Internet connection with it but failed, computers says that the Airport was connected to the Internet
but I did not have a Green light just amber. At this point I just want to get
connected wireless.

I finally got my Internet acess setup again using AirPort Express with ITunes.
It was a step that I left out.

I'm trying now to setup my wife's laptop to this system, I have not succeeded yet
though. I appreciated all patience given me

Thanks again
