My iMac G4 has suddenly started making a strange squeaking noise whenever I move the mouse over a link, a Finder item and sometimes just when it's sitting doing nothing. It's most notable in Safari. It sounds like it might be the hard-disk seeking in very, very short bursts, but I can't be sure. Has anybody else suffered this problem, and if so, what did you do about it? Also, is it possible that it bodes ill for the hard-disk? I have SMARTReporter running, and it tells me the hard-disk's health is still green.

Anyone know what may be wrong?
