I am buying the new iMac and was considering bumping up the memory to 2GB but got a bit of greed in me to go for 4GB.

Now my sensibilities came back and is demanding real-world applications for 4GB. I'll be using this iMac to do weddings.

Will 4GB help or am I just pissing against the wind.

More memory always helps. I have 2GB in my Macbook Pro now and could use more. 3GB would probably be good enough, but with the prices today, might as well do 4GB if you have the money to.

I'm ordering 4GB from OWC for my new iMac that is on order from Amazon.
