i want a new imac, have been waiting for this one for a while.
i've been an apple user since the 6100/60 (!); my own first mac was the 2400c, then the pismo, and 2 12" powerbooks (3rd, then 4th gen). this would be my first desktop machine.
i want an imac, but...am really not into the glossy screen.
(i also want a 12" intel macbook pro, but...no such thing. yet.)
one (obvious) downside to making your own hardware & software: limited choices. if i want a mbp, it's the 15" or the 17"; there is no pro 12". if i want a new imac, it's a glossy screen.
for the first time in over a decade, i am really unhappy with apple; they make the best computers, just not enough of them.
will go look friday at the new macs, give the screen a chance. but it's a shame apple is so focused on the consumer market, and the common denominator, and is forgetting the rest of us...
(end rant).

I feel a big awwwwww coming on....
AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.
I would say I know what you mean, but I don't. If I got one, and the glossy screen was a pain in the backside, then I would understand you, but atm, I think Apple have done well in releasing this imac.

i think it's a GREAT machine, just...a matte screen should at least be an option.
since the SCREEN is where we do everything, and lots of people use imacs for work (as opposed to surfing, playing, watching movies, etc), would be great if apple supported this market.
hey...whatever.
sent my feedback in, here..
