Apple mentions that the new keyboard is USB 2.0 - but I can't find any confirmation or tech specs to verify this. If it's true, you should be able to plug in a digital camera, iPod, or even an external disk into your keyboard !
Has anybody tried this out ?

I'm keen to know too if it will actually charge the iPod or just let you sync, in effect are these 2 ports as good as the ones on the back of the iMac?

And can you run a USB portable hard drive from them for instance?

My iphone would not sync through the keyboard usb ports. It said "not enough power"
Flash drives work. I'll try others later today

Oh for heaven's sake. Oh well, they're not what I would call proper USB 2 ports then. Silly Apple!

From Apple:
Are you sure you have the new keyboard? The old one I have does USB drives but not my iPod.

Some devices either need to be plugged directly into a usb port on the computer or use a powered usb port. Keyboard usb ports (not just apples) are typically not powered so they do not have enough juice to work with some devices.
