This is really, annoying. The lower Fan on the rear of my tower has been making this very annoying squeaking noise. I went to my local apple store and the squeaking failed to show its ugly face for the tech, so he only "cleaned" the fan and said he would order a new one. I use the Mac as a DAW and noise levels are very troublesome, not to mention I shouldn't be hearing a squeaking on a $3,000 machine that is only a little over a year old! It's like buying a new car with the breaks squealing all the time or something. Does anyone else have an issue similar to this? I thought I saw a post here a while back but can't find it now.

How did they check it? if at normal conditions, download smc fan control (smcFanControl2 ) , crank up the rpms and show them. Mine does it some times (its a 3 month old refurb).

Thanks Randy I will check it out. They tested it under normal conditions right after starting it up. It's funny the look on this guy's face. He was staring at me like I was an idiot trying to waste his time. Then I got it home and after an hour or so....BOOM...squeaky squeaky. I have to drive like an hour and a half to get there, so I told him to have the part ready next time. They will replace it no matter what.
