Hello, all ...

I have a dual 2.7ghz G5 running OSX 10.4.10 and a 23" Aluminum Cinema Display. They work well together (this is _quite_ an upgrade from my old 17" Cinema Display), but i've found that I can't use the USB ports on the back of the 23" for anything, otherwise the Mac gets _very_ unstable (freezes / crashes) ... this is even with just the keyboard plugged into it. It also exhibited this problem where the display would not sleep for long -- something would always wake it up after 2-3 minutes, though that something was never found. Since unplugging everything (keyboard, iPod) from the USB ports on the back of the display, these problems have gone away ...

I was wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this?

Regards,

John

Can't say I have, but it sounds like either a USB driver issue or a faulty hub in the display. If you have access to another Mac, I would say test it with your display. If not, perhaps pop down to your nearest Apple store and see if they would mind letting you test it there.
