So every time I do Software Update, I see the Mac Pro SMC firmware 1.1. But every time I run it, it downloads. Then I quit SU. Then the firmware app opens. Then I click Restart. Then it asks for my password. I give it up. Then I get this error windows and nothing happens:

What the frig?

Well that sucks. I am on a RAID. I'll have to find another drive, install OS X on it, just to do this firmware update :-(

Another reason not to run RAID on your boot device.

Another option is to Throw another disk into your computer and make that bootable.
