Hi,
I did a very stupid thing (although accidental). I threw the "system" folder (not the "system Folder") into the trash by mistake. I thought i could simply drag it back out, but it tries to copy it to the desktop instead. Trouble is...I don't have enough free space for it to copy. I hooked up an extrenal hard drive to copy to, but it won't show up on the desktop.

Any suggestions?????

That's unfortunate yet sort of funny. I didn't know that was possible.

Have you tried holding down the Option key while dragging it back out?

Why are you trying to move it to the desktop?

Move it to the topmost level of the hard drive!

Thanks for the suggestions but neither of them worked. It want:confuseds to copy no matter what I do. Also, the trash icon isn't the usual trash can, it's a document icon. Any idea if that matters????

Are you sure it's not still where it's supposed to be? Most of the time, you can't move that folder.
