When I bought my G4, I was aware of the fact it had a couple of faint 'shadows' in the screen--it was part of the reason I got such a good price on it. They're not really a big issue, and are only really noticeable when you have large swathes of pale colour behind them. However, that's not to say I wouldn't like to be rid of the damned things, if it's at all possible. They can be seen in the photo below:

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get rid of them, by any chance? Replacing the screen is most certainly not an option, as doing so through an Apple Authorised Service Centre would cost me as much again as I bought the machine for. As I said, they're not a major issue, but I would like to be rid of them if at all possible.

The panel itself is damaged, probably from pressure on the screen. There really isn't anything you can do other than replace the panel.

Damn. That's a shame. I suspected that was the case, but I was kinda hoping someone would come along with a wonder fix for the problem. It looks like I'll just have to get the panel replaced someday. As I said, it's not a major issue, but I would like the iMac to be in pristine working order. Thanks for the response, Steve.
