Well, finally broke down and paid for a solid internet connection as there are no more "free" waves in my area.
So...I also bought a Belkin wireless G router (F5D7230tt4) and am having many problems setting it up.

My internet comes from the local phone company (cable box) and requires a user name and pw to log on. When i try using the supplied set up disc which has specific programs for mac and osx, it starts ok until it checks my hardware then it says it can't set up. I think it has to do with the whole airport thing versus the ethernet thing. I really have no clue as to wtf I'm doing!
Supposedly according to the "simple 3 minute installation guide," I'm to leave my internet attached to my mac when I install the Belkin software and then it will to tell me toadd the routher into the mix and have a corded connection wth the router in the middle.
After 2 calls to a heavilly accented fellow at Belkin tech support he says I need to contact Apple about re-installling my (faulty) LAN card. I dunno....sounds fishy to me. Ive used the wifi on my imac before with no problems - same goes for the corded ethernet connection.

A couple of times I was able to use the network diagnostics when Safari couldn't conncet and got all the little lights to go green except for the internet...
I sure wish I knew what I'm doing!

Plug in the router and plug it into the internet, and then just turn on Airport. The computer should detect your router and ask for the username and password.
