Can I hook up a 20" iMac with my existing 23" cinema display? I'm thinking this might be a semi-okay work around for not having to sell my CD, I really like that display, plus I like lots of screen real estate.

Yes, although depending on the generation of 23" ACD, you may need to buy a $100 ADC<->DVI adapter.

you will however need the MiniDVI <-> DVI adapter that Apple sells (about £15) because the iMac has a mini-DVI port, not a full size one. Not a major problem, you you'd be pissed if you forgot to buy one while you were at the store getting the iMac
