I have an NEC PCIe usb card from my old PC, I would find it a lot more convenient than a hub, does anyone know if they are compatible with late 05 G5s?
I miss the days of the G5 and XPS Pentium 4 running side by side as high-end machines.

Sorry, I checked, it's actually just a PCI card.

PCI won't go into PCIe slots, but otherwise it would have depended on the chipset used by the card. If OS X has drivers for it, no problem. If not, I wouldn't bother trying to make it work. USB can cause all sorts of issues if the drivers aren't top notch.

Late 2005 PMG5s have PCIe slots, so PCI cards won't even fit much less work.

Even if it did fit, you'd need drivers for OS X, which probably don't, but possibly do, exist for the card.

If I look under system profiler, it says PCI cards for expansion. This is a late 2005 G5, I got it for Christmas 2006, its got a single dual core processor.

Saying PCI in the system profilier is just being sloppy... the dual core machines only have PCIe slots.
