i have a brand new 24" 2.8 imac and am using the bundled keyboard and mouse; all 10.4 updates are installed, including the keyboard update (if that matters). here is the deal:
constantly, when doing just about anything... the mouse on the screen (not the physical mouse on my desk) just slides up to the upper right corner of the screen (where my screen saver hot corner is). ok, maybe not constantly, but almost every time i put my hand on my mouse this happens. what the hell is the matter with it? anyone else seeing this? it drives me nuts because it starts my screen saver each time. no matter where i start to put the mouse (e.g. left) it goes up and right.

I can simulate that by getting a hair trapped under the mouse. Maybe the optics are scratched/ defective.

Honestly, I've owned several Apple mice (Pro, mighty) and all of them do that behavior regardless which Mac that I use it with. That is why I depend on my Logitech MX 500 when needed.

figured as much. you know it sucks that is the case. i actually like the little scroll ball thingy and the appearance of a single button. i much prefer a wireless mouse though, so i guess i'll check out the new logitech's that i've been reading about (like your mx500). thanks.

Try using a solid coloured mouse mat. Could be something to do with the surface of your desk.
