With 4GB SODIMMs soon to be released can you run a "Santa Rosa" 2GHz iMac Core 2 Duo with 8GB of RAM? I read somewhere that a Sanata Rosa-based notebooks from Dell & HP can accommodate 8GB of RAM so long as you're using a 64-bit OS.

Nope, the 965PM chipset only supports 4GB (section 1.1.2).

Also, it's Crestline not Santa Rosa; missing the Intel wifi to complete the Santa Rosa platform.
