I've noticed this little annoying thing about my iMac lately. There are horizontal gray lines that move down the screen quickly. They are really annoying and quite visible. I am wondering if this has something to do with this issue? It falls within that range of serial numbers. Also the lines seem to widen sometimes. I'll try and catch it on video later. It's a 1.8 GHz G5 rev A.

Most likely they are symptoms... I've had a few of those come thru my shop.

Take it to an Apple Authorized Service Provider and they'll verify the symptoms with Apple Service Diagnostic -- unfortunately, its major surgery because the Logic board will having to be replaced. The video card is integrated on the logic board, so its all or nothing.

Gah! Okay, I'll take it in next week I guess. Maybe they'll just give me a brand new one . Then I'll have to have a new username though, since I won't have a G5.
