Hey,
my mum has a PowerMac G4 Mirrored Doors with 1 GHz. Some weeks ago, it just didn't start up, but restarting the PMU got it back working.
Some days ago, instead of starting up, the power light flashed, the fans went on and off in cycles and it didn't get further. Turning it on and off a few times made it work again.
Then, two days later, it only started with a flashing question mark (my mum says it was within a camera symbol, but I guess it was either a floppy or a folder). Retrying a few times got it back to work again, but it feels pretty aweful now.
I know the battery has grown old and I will replace it soon, but I think it's something else. Tried First Aid already and it says everything is alright.
Any thoughts? Do I have to replace the hard drive? Software trouble? Mainboard trouble?
Thanks in advance!
Greetings,
Steve
