What happen? I did a disk utility and no repairs needed. When I shut down, the little spinning circle just stays on the screen. The only way to turn off the computer is the power from the wall. Help please.

thanks

System Profile.

Granted, I'm way behind the times over here using 10.3.9 because Digital Performer wants $350.00 for Tiger-able DP 5.0 upgrade, but I believe you should be able to click 'About this Mac' under your apple menu, then click the "more info" button at the bottom of that window. Toward the bottom of the menu on the left, go to 'Logs'. I believe we're looking for system logs, not console logs, but they're both available there. Just click 'system logs' and give it a few seconds to spool up.

I think it's more and OS thing. My machine at work takes longer to shutdown then my one at home, same machine 2.66 Mac Pro. I think because there is more things done on the one at work so there is more to clean up and organised at one time. Also try quiting all apps one by one before shuting down that may be quicker.
