Hi there,

My wife has a MacOSX, 10.3.9, with all latest patches installed, PowerPC. I have built a small VPN connecting her shop to our home and I am so far unable to have the small Maxtor NAS disk mount when she is not in the same network as the NAS disk, or with her MAC @ home...

With Windows I am able to mount by just giving the IP address of the disk and the mount point. Everything works fine. With MAC, I already tried with the finder, to go to the Network and give the IP address and the mount point, but I am sure I am doing something wrong. It simply doesn't work.

I am sure the Network is fine, because I am able from her MAC to ping the NAS disk, and from a windows laptop I am also able to mount, as I said, using the IP address of the disk.

Can someone help me?

Tough one. I presume its using SMB to share the NAS drive?
As I recall, SMB uses port 445, so check all your firewalls.
It may be that samba just isn't great over a VPN on Mac.
Do you have any other Macs you can use on the home side? It might be useful to see how AFP works over your VPN.
