Hi,
As the owner of a liquid cooled PowerMac (2.7Ghz G5) I'm rather worried about the reports of coolant leaks. So, in order to get some indication of the prevalence of these leaks I started this poll.
Regards,
Jules.

Um, SuperHans. Out of curiosity, I checked your previous posts. You've posted six questions in the past, and never told us once how things worked out in each case. It's not very satisfying to give advice to empty air.
My Quad G5 has not leaked a drop of coolant or vodka, but it does spontaneously generate dust particles that didn't previously exist.

I think mine (DP 2.5GHz) is alive, though honestly I haven't powered it up in over 7 months. Its missing a few sticks of RAM (pulled to use in a different machine) and is lacking a hard drive and superdrive (both of which are currently in my Mac Pro).
I should put it back together and sell it, but just too busy and/or lazy to put in the effort right now.
About 18 months ago, however, I did have the motherboard, both processors and the power supply replaced (under AppleCare) after it decided to power down... permanently... one day. Thank Dog for AppleCare, otherwise it would have been a pretty penny to fix. Not sure if it was a leaking LCS, though I never did see any fluid.

My DP 2.5GHz first refused to operate one month after purchase, Jan.2005. Fried CPUs. July 11th 2007 died again and taken to Apple Store. They said everything was replaced and it still refused to start up. New MacPro supplied by Apple
replaced the G5. I never think twice about getting AppleCare.

Ok, now I think I'm jealous. A whole new Mac Pro for any G5, except the Quad G5 is a VERY good deal.

My DP 2.5 leaked, under Applecare they replaced motherboard, processors,
liquid cooling unit and power supply.
If I had experienced this without Applecare I would have been out of business
because the cost of repairing it would have been more than the cost for the
computer itself! To be honest I'm still paying for the darn thing.
I still have some Applecare left but I'm concerned that the second it runs out,
the thing will leak and explode.
I haven't gotten the "Your G5 died, here, have a MacPro" deal either.

My dual 2.7 G5 leaked fluid. I had problems getting it repaired correctly, and I ended up getting Apple to completely replace my computer. This was over a year ago.
