17" flat screen IMAC. I'm used to the drive noise when loading something up. It stops pretty soon. However lately, about twice a month, for some reason it just takes off running and crunching like crazy for about 5-10 minutes. This is when no activity is taking place. Can't figure it out!!! Why would it do this??

1. Make a more descriptive thread titles.
2. Its Mac, not MAC.

It sounds like the drive is dead. Maybe you could disable it and get a external or get a new Mac.
