So I have a MDD 1.25DP G4.
I picked up a maxtor SATA drive for Leopard.

I want to future proof for the next drive and I don't care about RAID since I will utilize ZFS pooling.

Any recommendations for PCI SATA II cards? Must be bootable

Thanks.

The only SATA card I am aware of that is Mac-bootable is the Firmtek 1VE4

(Technically speaking all SATA cards are SATA 1 - SATA II is used by drive manufacturers as shorthand for SATA-300 )

Thanks

It seems that the Firmtek SeriTek/1S2 is also bootable.

Not on the webpage, but on various forums.

Well that's what I am going to order.

Thanks for the replies and the info around SATA II.

yep it is, but not sure if they have updated it to SATA II or not........otherwise it is a VERY old & dated card......had 1 in my beige & B&W G3's, if that gives you any clue
