I just picked up and emac g5 from a friend for very cheap. The computer turns on but all that happens is it makes a small beep immediately after turning on. Then stays black while the fan runs and the sleep light blinks twice then stays solid for a couple seconds then repeats.

What should my order of operations be?

Thanks.

Hello?

Is there a better forum for this sort of question?

Emacs are G4's not G5's.
See the emac repair extension program here:
Apple - Support - eMac Repair Extension Program for Video and Power Issues
Try this:
Troubleshooting: My computer won't turn on
And then ask here, you'll get better information:
Apple - Support - Discussions - eMac
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Beeps indicate bad or unseated RAM.
