I have had my 20" iMac for a couple months now and love it. I just have a few questions. Is there anyway to get the sound to output at 5.1 so my receiver can do surround sound? Is there a way to turn off the monitor but still have it running besides just waiting for the screen to turn off after 20 min or so? And finally does anyone know of a place to download a sonic or mario widget? I saw one on someones macbook the other day and have no clue where he got it from.
Thanks!

All Macs' audio out ports are 5.1 through optical. Connect an optical cable to your stereo from the audio out port.

How soon do you want the display to go off? Adjust it in the Energy Saver preferences.

A Sonic/Mario widget that does what? Do you mean a background picture or an icon or something else? Have you Googled?

A sonic and mario widget that is the game.
I would want the screen off a different times. The iMac is in my room and when I watch tv or something I would like to be able to just turn it off and then other times leave it on when I am just sitting around or whatever.
Thanks for the info on the audio cable. I will have to take a look and see then since I think it may be the receiver messing up then.

Just put the machine to sleep when you are not using it to turn off the screen.
