From time to time I hear a harp type sound coming from the imac sounds like a Strum dum dum...

Any ideas.

That's a new sound.

Doesn't sound like the hard drive. That would be more of a clicking.

Do you still have warranty? If yes, let apple check it out.

Its a sound from the speakers like an event sound.
