So, I come home today, and wake-up my computer and everything freezes. I first attempted to open a program which just bounced and bounced and bounced and then stopped. Then Finder froze and i had to force a restart. The console logs show something pertaining to MacNN... at a time when I wasn't in the house.

From the almighty console: (should I be concerned?)

12/14/07 6:51:28 PM [0x0-0x4d04d].com.apple.Safari[409] Unsafe JavaScript attempt to access frame with URL http://forums.macnn.com/89/macnn-lou...p/#post3554834 from frame with URL 728x90_ts_computer_20k. Domains, protocols and ports must match.

There are like ten of these, then this:

12/14/07 6:51:28 PM com.apple.launchd[112] ([0x0-0x4d04d].com.apple.Safari[409]) Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 638 PPID 1 nmblookup

Then entires about all my programs crashing.
then this:

12/14/07 6:53:29 PM com.apple.launchd[112] ([0x0-0x66066].com.apple.Automator[523]) Stray process with PGID equal to this dead job: PID 636 PPID 1 nmblookup

then I force restart. On return, Spotlight began to index my backup drive again, and console shows

12/14/07 6:54:23 PM com.apple.launchctl. System[2] fsck_hfs: Volume is journaled. No checking performed.
12/14/07 6:54:23 PM com.apple.launchctl.System[2] fsck_hfs: Use the -f option to force checking.

Then console crashed on me as i attempted to drag some items to this post.

HELP!

Sorry to hear that.

As you have Leopard, you have completely erased the previous owner's system on this mac.

Have you googled your problems in connection with Leopard?

Have you considered a complete erase and install and then an immediate download of the patch that apple has released?

Can you imagine installing and/or running any new software that could have caused this?

Leopard, completely fresh install, even reinstalled my apps from scratch. i think that the system accidetally corrupted something, a restart seems to have fixed all.
