eMac cursor freezing intermitantly

eMac 1.25 GHz PowerPC G4, 1GB DDR SDRAM running OSX 10.4.11.
After three years of trouble free use have been recently experiencing cursor freezing, all other functions appear ok. I use Wacon intuos 3 mouse and have updated driver but still having problems. Any ideas what I might try?

Have you tried any other mice?
