My dual 800Mhz powermac G4 will not start. The power light goes on for an instant, then nothing.
I've replaced the battery, zapped the PRAM on restart & reset open firmware. The only thing that works is for me to push the PMU button. Once booted up, restarting the machine is no problem, but once I shut it down, I'm back to the same problem. (every time)
Why would I always have to push the PMU button & how can I fix this problem? Is it a Logic board problem?
Also, I performed a logic board reset, with no results. Again, when I push the PMU button once, it starts.

Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the PMU might be faulty. That would be on the logic board. Sorry dude.
