Hi...

I'm new here, and this is my first post. I currently have a MacMini with a Dell Monitor wall mounted on a swing-arm. It's time to upgrade, and I would love to get an iMac. I was at the Apple store today to find out about the VESA kit for the 24" iMac. I was told that the kit is not compatible with the new iMac.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could wall-mount the iMac safely? I even thought of having a machine shop tool some sort of clamp, but would rather go with something ready made that has been used for this purpose. Oh... I'd like to keep the price under $100. Something where I could use the swing arm I already have would be ideal, but I'm open to any suggestions.

Thanks so much for your help.

You might need to get new swing arm that can both support the weight of the iMac and work with the mounting bracket

THANK YOU!!!! Sheesh... I went to The Apple Store specifically to find out about this VESA kit, and got totally wrong info! I even looked on line but never saw the info you provided.

The one i have is VESA compatible to 100cm, so that part is OK. It says it supports up to 33 lbs. .... I'll have to look up how heavy the iMac is.

Once again... thanks for the answers and the links... really appreciate it!

I've seen several different weights listed, but all seem to be in mid-20 lb, so my swing arm, which is good up to 33 lbs. should work just fine. I am a happy camper

Here's the photo of what someone else did, from another forum. I believe the VESA mount was also mentioned in that one.

Thanks for the image. My monitor is on an articulating arm next to my recliner. The keyboard is in my lap, mouse on a small tray on top of the arms of my recliner. REally comfy surfin'
