I just got my Mac Pro today and of course the first thing I do is start installing World of Warcraft.. and the Superdrive is excessively noisy, like a light grating or buzzing sound as it spins the disc. Is this normal or do I have a problem drive in my beastie?

Well, it may have been just the one DVD, the next one I tried wasn't nearly as loud. Not quiet, but much more acceptable.

High speed vibration, sure. Buzzing or grating, not so much. Can you post a sound clip?

I don't think I want to put that DVD back in the drive but if another drive does it I'll see what I can do about a sound clip. Thanks for your interest.
