I have a MP 2.66 and and yet to install the 1.1 SMC (whatever that means ) update. My fear is that right now my MP is quiet. The searching that I have done had relieved that some people had some "loud fan" issues after this update. Does anyone tell me about their experience with this update?

The reason I wanted to update now, is that under Tiger I had zero issues with the OS , Leopard, OTOH bought little quirks (bugs). Perhaps its because my fw is not up to date. But if the update is going to make my fans loud I would be glad to put with the quirks.

Sleep issues (insomnia), desktop becomes unresponsive - requiring the finder to be restarted. I doubt that something that update the fan activity will fix these problems, but its worth a shot.
