Hello all I have a G5 Quad 2.5. I am trying to connect my Samsung TV to it. I have a DVI to Component RCA Cable. When I plug in the to the second DVI port and connect the RCA Plugs, the TV just has a bunch of zig zag lines and random colors.

The Mac recognizes the TV as a VGA Display in System Prefs.

Am I doing something wrong? The TV is a 480i 20inch TV (not LCD)

Any Ideas would be great.

Where did you get the DVI to component (do you mean composite?) cable? From Apple or some other source?
Only certain adapter cables will work with your Mac; you need one that can tell the video card to output a different signal.

Sounds to me like you're pushing a resolution and/or refresh rate too high for the TV.

Try setting it to 640x480 @ 60Hz. If it pops up fine, then work your way up.
