Apparently, I'm not too swift. I have an 800 MHz eMac with no Airport card that I wanted to connect to my existing NETGEAR wireless router. I wish I had bought an Airport card, but I bought an NETGEAR XE102 wireless bridge.

I have it plugged into a wall outlet, connected to my eMac via ethernet cable, and I got a whole lot of nothing. I ran the Network Diagnostics, put in the network name and the correct password and this freaking thing can't find the server. Any ideas?!

is there a CD that came with the bridge? you might have to use some sort of web utility to connect (using safari, firefox etc.)

I bought it on ebay, so of course, only the ethernet cable and the bridge. I'll try a web utility. Thanks for the help!

To call the NETGEAR "XE102 "Wireless bridge" is a bit misleading, and they are never officially called like that. I think you are utterley mistaken as to what they are used for.

The XE102 are Powerline adapters. The extend a ethernet network through your powerline.

So the typical setup looks like this

Mac1---ethernet---XE102 ~ ~ wall socket ~ ~ powerline ~ ~ wall socket ~ ~ XE102---ethernet---Mac2

They have absolutely NO capability to pick up a wireless network.

You ALWAYS need at least TWO XE102, one that's being "FED" a network connection via ethernet, the other XE102 that sort of "receives" the network connection.
Unless you have two XE102, they are completely useless.
