I am running Tiger 10.4.11 on an iMac which is 12 months old. I am intending to upgrade to Leopard but wondered what basic precautionary measures, other than obvious backing up of files etc, do I need to do prior to installation. Any tips from you guys that have bitten the bullet would be appreciated.

Someone advised me to possibly wait for issue 10.5.4 as there are problems with 10.5.1 at present. Is that true? Although I don't understand what happened to 10.5.2 ... or 3.

I don't, but found this ....

"After Leopard's release, there were widely-reported incidents of new Leopard installs hanging at boot with a blue screen. Most of these problems were attributed to Leopard's incompatibility with an unsupported add-on extension called Application Enhancer (APE), from Unsanity; unbeknownst to many users, APE had been installed silently on many Macs by Logitech as part of their mouse drivers. Apple published a knowledge base article on how to solve this problem."

Don't know if this has been posted before regarding compatibility of certain apps with Leopard but I found it very useful.

Don't worry I've been using Leopard from day 1 and I've had no issues (other than some way old programs not working)

There could be little machine-specific gotchas that I'm not sure about, but I'm generally a happy camper with Leopard
